Swaddling.. Not!

We have figured out that while most of the books and people talk about swaddling babies Sav is not a fan. She likes being able to move her arms all of the place like the attached where she is apparently dreaming of field goals. One night I checked the monitor and she had her arm over her forehead like she was blocking the sun :-)

Still no consistent schedule but at just shy of two weeks old I'm guessing that's normal. Trying to find ways of keeping her awake during the day - it is not an easy task! Today I got a while of awake time by dancing a little stuffed animal in front of her. Eyes were WIDE open for it. Also noticed the past couple days she's been eating more often but less amounts. Going to try and get her back to less frequent but bigger feedings to get her tummy full so she'll sleep longer. Wish me luck!

The Sav

Second bathtime went much better than the first, we made it almost three quarters of the way through before Sav started fussing at us. Once wrapped up in her towel she calms down pretty fast too. :)

Also thankful that the cord has fallen off her belly button.. Was really gross!!! And I was afraid of accidentely touching it and hurting her, but mostly just YUK!!

We all took a nap together as well, picture isn't real good since there wasn't much light but a little visible.

The Sav

I was finally able to catch Savvy on camera with her eyes open! It's the little things that excited me :-)

Have had a lot more spit up the last couple of days but she's also almost doubled what she eats each feeding. Trying to break up the feedings to burp a couple times but she really fights for the bottle. Definitely getting the hang of one of her actions. When hungry, mouth opens wide for a few seconds then she starts ducking on her hand. If everything else was so easy we'd be gold! Granted, there's only a few wants right now so process of elimination is easy.

I'm off to get some cleaning done while she snoozes, where do all the hours go?!?

The Sav

Completed night two in a row of minimal awake time! As of now, the trick seems to be waking her and keeping her awake more during the day. She woke around 12:30 as we were going to bed, at 4:30 then at 7am each just long enough to eat and have a diaper change. Yay! I of course realize we can not bet on this wonderful schedule all the time but it is GREAT when it happens.

She is opening her eyes more when awake to stare at us and get surroundings, I so wish I knew what she was thinking. We took the cars to the fire station today to get the car seat installed in Marc's car and mine checked - Marc had done a great job not that I'm surprised.

At this point the bottle feeding is much easier so odds are I will just stick with it instead of trying to nurse.
Both Marc and I are doing well especially since we've gotten a good sleep the past two nights. Marc has even been able to play some video games although I have a list of things to do that aren't getting done. Oh well, none are that big a deal.

Attached pic of our sleeping burrito, so peaceful. :-)

Talk soon! Love you all!
