My Latest Creations

Since Tyler is now sleeping until 5 AM most nights I’m a little more rested and have some more time at night to relax. Some of the things I’ve done..

Valentine’s Fun

We did a bunch of different things for Valentine’s Day although I don’t think Savannah doesn’t seem to know what it is yet.

Gel Hearts that she could stick on the sliding door and fridge. She tried sticking them to her hand and arm like a sticker but alas it didn’t work. They did stay on Melanie and Rodney for a while though.

Paper Train we made for her school’s administration team. Filled it with Mini M&Ms and those chalky “conversation” hearts.

Valentine’s for her teachers. The first was for her main teacher with her handprint “holding up” the heart. For the colored hearts I had her fingerpaint a big piece of paper and cut it out to fill up the heart shapes.

Snowmen and Snowflakes

Whlie we don’t have snow in Phoenix, we can make our own! First we made snowmen. As you can see Savannah loves gluing pieces on more than coloring.  And she loves the color blue. Blue this, blue that.. Perfect color for winter crafs though.

Next we colored coffee filters to make into snowflakes. These work just like the coffee filter leaves with different colors. Daddy even did a couple of them at Savannah’s order. I love doing crafts with this little girl even if I end up with a big mess to clean up Smile

New Shirts

Made two new shirts for the kiddos! The one for Savvy is real big but it's hard to find blank toddler size clothes and I lived the design too much to wait!

We All Scream for Ice Cream!

One of today's projects was making ice cream for Savvy. No, not real ice cream - paper ice cream! It's actually much bigger than I thought it would be and I'm so excited for her to see it tomorrow. I got it all cut out (by hand!) while she was napping but didn't get them glued together until after bedtime.

I have a few Popsicles left to make for the set by they can wait. And even found a fruit set to make so she has more for her kitchen!

Tyler's Growth Chart

With Marc home for two weeks I've been getting a lot done that's been on my list for months. One is Tyler's Growth Chart. It's across from Sav's bit instead of doing all vinyl I painted the lines and just did vinyl numbers and the letter T. Part of the reason is Sav has picked a few of the lines from hers off.

Watercolor Leaves

Since we do not have any trees with leaves that change color we made our own. We used liquid watercolors and coffee filters on saran wrap to keep the colors bright and bold.

To get the water color onto the coffee filter we used pipettes which Savannah picked up how very quickly. She had a blast shooting the water colors out of it!

We had Tyler with us but at a small distance in case of splatter.

The colors were super bright and Savannah was very happy with the result!

We left them to dry out overnight, still on saran wrap so most of the color would stay on them.

The next day I cut them into leaf shapes and put them up on the window. They turned out great – brighter in person since all the sun lightens the picture.

Have I mentioned how much I am loving that Savannah can do arts and crafts now?
