Marc is now (thankfully) working days for at least a little while. We are trying to take advantage of this new extra daddy time while we have it so we took a trip to the Arizona BBQ Festival. Savannah stayed in her stroller the whole time checking out all the different people and seeming to have a grand ol’ time. She even tried some barbeque chicken – with minimal sauce. We watched lawnmower racing and arm wrestling at the redneck games and got a LOT of sun..
The next morning Daddy took us out to breakfast at IHOP that has recently opened near us. Turns out their menus not only look super appetizing but are great for peek-a-boo.

8 Months!!
I actually caught a bunch of good pictures for the 8 month shots!! Might be a double edged sword as it’s harder to pick my favorites when there are more good pictures so here is a bunch of them!
LOVE this grin!!!
Starting to lose her attention..
And just for kicks, here is how a ton of the pictures turn out since she is so active.

Computers and Tablets
Our little one is obsessed with the computer and tablets.. Grandma Wienke lets her watch and play with the tablet some while she’s here on Wednesdays..
And I caught these snaps of Marc playing games on the computer with Savannah the other day. She decided watching was not good enough and took over the controls.. I believe Marc ended up with a ton of “8”s all over his screen.. hehehe

Costco
We took a family trip to Costco the other day when Marc was off work. We had taken my truck to get washed and walked to Costco so while waiting for Marc to bring it back and pick it up Savannah and I did some people and car watching..
Ate some lunch including the real reason I love going.. Their frozen yogurt is AWESOME!! Savannah totally agrees :)
And practiced our gymnastics.. Well, one of us did..

Taking the Spoon
For a little while Savvy hasn't been trying to take the spoon from us while we feed her. The last few days or so her interest is back so I've been giving it to her and she's getting better. Some of the food actually stays in her mouth - and sometimes she uses her other hand to push it off the spoon into her mouth but whatever works and keeps her entertained is fine with me.
Savvy and the Spoon
She is also getting very comfortable with moving around from the sitting position. She leans all the way down with her belly and/or face on the floor between her legs and back up with no help. Usually it's for a toy - especially for Gator on her play table.. And yes.. that is her diaper since her shorts got messed up :)
And tonight right before bedtime I realized that she can stay upright with just barely leaning her tushy on me. Not totally standing since she's leaning on me but was still shocked she could do this!! Her feet are cut out of the picture since my arm only goes so far but they are flat on the ground.. We might very well have a walker before a crawler..

Dancing and Kicking and Babbling Oh My!
I took a bunch of videos with Savannah over the last couple days in the playroom. I of course find almost everything Savannah does wonderful. Like beating her play table with her foot, (she was stuffy that day so her breathing sounds off), Dancing and Wiggling, and her babble which I have yet to catch too much of on video.
While not crawling yet she can sure get around by rolling and pulling herself to the sides. She is also recently fascinated with feet (some good babble right before my foot enters the video!). And she still loves all kinds sounds - especially her toys that make music. Really good trick to halt fussing!
Where we spend most of our inside time (complete with at least one dog always at the gate):

Learning Peek-a-Boo
Savannah had started doing this pose at meals a week or so ago. We have no idea what it is but it happens a lot. We were wondering if it could be her trying to play Peek-a-Boo but she didn’t tell us.
She did however start playing Peek-a-Boo recently – on command with Marisa!! Marisa would do Peek-A Boo to Savannah, get a giggle out of her then say “Your Turn!” and Savannah would do Peek-A-Boo back. Of course, when I got there to pick her up she just looked at us like we were crazy and Marisa was making up stories.
While not on command, she has done peek-a-boo to me a few times including in her highchair followed by the hands on forehead pose so apparently it’s something else.

The Playroom
We are using the front room of the house for Savannah’s playroom, it was mostly empty so easiest to convert. We just moved all of her stuff into the room and she has plenty of room to roll around and play. My only gripe is there is no fan or lights on the ceiling and the two standing lamps are not the greatest light sources. I have been opening the shades on the two windows which helps during the day but obviously not at night.
I can’t believe how many toys she has! We keep them in bins so she gets “new” ones each day or two to keep things interesting. Sometimes I just sit and watch her, her faces and reactions to the toys are hilarious. She’s been playing with the musical table (without the legs) a lot – she loves the music. She’s starting to figure out how to get the balls onto the ramp to roll around the middle. She also likes the gator head, it makes open and closing noises when you lift up and push down on him. I accidently put the gator on the opposite side of her today and she was trying to lean over and get him and starting hitting the toy when she couldn’t reach. Thankfully an easy fix!
Here are some videos of her playing and one where she got sidetracked when she noticed Logan was near her and Rodney just outside the gate..

Daycare Doggie Love
Howard and Savannah are a match made in Doggie Heaven. She loves to hang out with him, stare and grab at him, and smack him. And I’ve been told Howard always has to be right next to Savannah when she’s there unless she’s crying. He even squeezed in between Marisa and Savannah on the couch!!

The Latest Highchair Pose
In addition to dancing at the dinner (and breakfast and lunch) table, Savannah is now striking a new pose. I have no idea what it means but it cracks me up. The pictures were all the same day but each a separate time she did the pose..
Hide and Seek? Peek-a-boo? Brainfreeze? Your guess is as good as mine..
